How to Use

To obtain the most effective results, apply one drop a day of Lumigan (Bimatoprost) to the affected eye, usually in the evening. Wash your hands thoroughly before using this product and make sure the dropper tip does not touch your eye or any part of your skin, as this may lead to contamination. To apply, tilt your head back, look up and pull down your lower eyelid. Apply one drop directly above your lower eyelid, look downwards and close your eyes briefly. Then apply gentle pressure to the corner of your eye, next to your nose, to stop the liquid from draining out. Follow the directions of your doctor exactly, even if they differ from the usually recommended dosage.

Lumigan (Bimatoprost) may stain contact lenses. If you are wearing lenses, make sure to take them out before applying the eyedrops and do not put them back in your eye until at least 5 minutes after application.

If you are using any other type of eye treatment (e.g. drops or ointment) you should leave at least 5 minutes inbetween the application of both medications. If you are also using an ointment, this should be applied after the eyedrops.

Do not rinse the dropper, simply replace it on the bottle and screw on tight.

To enjoy the maximum benefits of Lumigan (Bimatoprost), take this medication regularly and at approximately the same time every day.

Overdose

Lumigan (Bimatoprost) may be harmful if swallowed.

If you suspect this medication has been swallowed or that you have taken too much of this medication, contact your local poison control center or the emergency medical services immediately.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Lumigan (Bimatoprost), take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled dosage, skip the missed dose and take the next one instead. Do not attempt to double up on this medication to make up for a missed dose.

Notes

While using Lumigan (Bimatoprost), you may be required to undergo regular laboratory or medical tests to chart your progress and check for potential side effects. Make sure you do not miss any of these appointments.

Lumigan (Bimatoprost) is not a cure for glaucoma, it merely helps treat the symptoms related to glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Do not share this medication with others as they may have a condition that is not adequately treated with Lumigan (Bimatoprost).

Storage

Store Lumigan (Bimatoprost) at room temperature between 36 and 77 degrees F (2-25 degrees C ) and keep away from light and moisture. Once finished, dispose of this medication in keeping with environmental standards. KEEP THIS AND ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions

Before using Lumigan (Bimatoprost), inform your doctor of your medical history, including:

• Any allergies
• Eye problems (e.g. macular edema, iritis, uveitis, lens extraction or aphakia)

If you currently have or ever have had any of the above conditions you may not be able to take this medication or you may need a dosage adjustment.

If you develop a new eye condition (e.g. infection, eye surgery or injury) while using Lumigan (Bimatoprost), you should ask your doctor whether you should start using a new bottle.

Using Lumigan (Bimatoprost) may temporarily make your vision unstable. It is therefore advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.

Lumigan (Bimatoprost) is classed as Pregnancy Category C by the FDA, which means it is not known whether this medication can be harmful to an unborn child. Do not take this medication without informing your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during treatment. Discuss the benefits and risk of taking this medication while pregnant with your doctor.

It is not know whether Lumigan (Bimatoprost) passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing infant. Talk with your doctor before taking this medication if you are currently breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions

Before taking Lumigan (Bimatoprost), inform your doctor of all other medications you are currently using, including:

• Eyelash treatment (such as topical bimatoprost)

This is only a partial list of possible interactions and others may occur. Inform your doctor of all prescription and non-prescription medication you are currently using, including dietary supplements, vitamins, herbal pills and medication prescribed by another doctor. Do not stop or start taking any medication without consulting your doctor first.

Potential side effects of Lumigan (Bimatoprost) include:

• Irritation of the eye (burning, stinging, redness)
• Feeling as if something is in your eye
• Dry eyes
• Watering eyes
• Increased sensitivity to light

The above side effects are usually mild and should only last temporarily. Notify your doctor as soon as possible if any of these effects persist or worsen.

Lumigan (Bimatoprost) may gradually cause brown discoloration of the iris. If this medication is used to treat one eye only, only the colored part of the eye on that side may change color. This medication may also cause changes in the eyelashes on the treated eye, such as an increase in number, length or thickness or darkening of the eyelashes or eyelid. Researchers have not yet been able to determine whether or not these changes are permanent. Make sure you schedule regular eye exams and if you experience any such changes, you should notify your doctor immediately.

Inform your doctor straightaway if you experience any of the following unlikely but serious side effects:

• Vision changes
• Eye pain or swelling
• Swelling or redness of the eyelids

In rare cases, you may experience a severe allergic reaction to Lumigan (Bimatoprost). Seek urgent medical attention if you have any of the following symptoms:

• Rash
• Itching or swelling (especially of the face, tongue or throat)
• Severe dizziness
• Trouble breathing

This is only a partial list and other side effects of Lumigan (Bimatoprost) may occur. Let your doctor know as soon as possible if you experience any side effects other than the ones mentioned above, especially if they are bothersome.
